As part of the celebrations marking the 7th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege, Ph.D., MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), Olota of the Paramount and Ancient Ottaland, the inaugural All-Secondary Schools Marathon Race was successfully held.
The event aimed to harness the unifying power of sports while rekindling students’ interest in track and field events. Beyond its physical benefits, the marathon served as a platform to promote mental resilience and foster healthy competition among secondary school students.
Adebusoye Samson of Anglican Grammar School, Otta, emerged as the overall champion of the highly competitive race, demonstrating remarkable endurance and determination. The first female finisher was Ani Kanyisola of Dakeff Schools, Lagos, showcasing exceptional grit and perseverance.
The Palace extends its heartfelt appreciation to all participants, organizers, sponsors, and stakeholders whose dedication and efforts contributed to the success of this landmark event. You are all champions!
