The overnight attack in Moscow comes hours before planned talks in Saudi Arabia between Ukrainian and US officials, where Zelensky's head of office Andriy Yermak is expected to speak with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The meeting between the two delegations follows a clash between Zelensky and Trump at the White House last month, after which the US paused military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
Rubio has said that he hoped the pause in aid could be "resolved" but that the negotiations on Tuesday "would be key to that".
The suspension "came about because we felt that they [Ukraine] were not committed to any sort of peace process", he said, and "if that changes, obviously our posture can change".
In his video address late on Monday, Zelensky said he was hoping for a "practical result" at the talks and his country's position would be "constructive".
Separately, Zelensky landed in Saudi Arabia on Monday to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman but he is not expected to be formally involved in the talks today.
According to Bloomberg and Axios news websites, citing unnamed sources, the United States Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is planning to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow later this week.
