Just In: Against Popular Opinions,House of Reps Approves President Tinubu’s Emergency Rule in Rivers State

 

Minority Whip of the House, Ali Isa JC, moved the amendment to the request that when there are signs of resolution of the crisis, the President should review the emergency rule in the State

The House of Representatives has approved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s request for a state of emergency in Rivers State, with an amendment.

The House has resolved that the emergency rule can be reviewed any time during its duration, without waiting for the six months specified in the proclamation.

Minority Whip Ali Isa JC introduced the amendment, which stipulates that the President should review the emergency rule in the state when there are signs of resolution to the crisis.
