Afenifere youth president confirms release from kidnappers' den
Eniola Olajuni, the national president of the Afenifere Youth Council, has confirmed his release from the kidnappers’ den after 12 days in captivity.
His release was announced by Biodun Aderohunmu, the national secretary of the council, on Saturday.
In a video released on Saturday evening, Olajuni confirmed his release, saying: “I have been released. I was released in Ibillo in Edo State. My name is Prince Eniola Olajuni, Afenifere youth leader,” he said.
Olajuni was abducted on February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja for a meeting.
The kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of N100 million and two tricycles for his freedom.
A distress video had previously surfaced, showing Olajuni pleading for financial assistance while being held at gunpoint during his captivity.
