YULETIDE: LAGOS NSCDC DEPLOYS 3,125 OPERATIVES

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command has reassured Lagosians, of its commitment, towards ensuring peaceful and conducive atmosphere, devoid of crimes and criminalities that could lead to the break down of law and order or the vandalization of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ), during this year’s 2024, Christmas and New Year celebrations respectively, in the state.

The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro made the above statement today, Tuesday, 17th December, 2024, at the State Command's Headquarters, in Alahusa, Ikeja. He affirmed also that the Command has concluded, its 'Proactive Operational Deployment Strategy,' in firm preparations for this year's Yuletide, New Year celebration and Post New Year celebration. He further announced that a total of three  thousand one hundred and twenty five ( 3,125 ) officers and men have been strategically, deployed, to the various strategic and tactical locations, points, beats, relaxation spots, recreational parks, markets, worship centres ( churches ), religious gatherings, right of ways, critical national assets and infrastructure, belonging to the Federal, State and Local Governments, amidst other very important places, without neglecting the remote and coastal/riverine areas in the state.

The above deployments were being drawn, from various departments and units, such as; Operation, Intelligence and Investigation, Anti – Vandal, Armed Squad, CNAI, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosives ( CBRNE ) Unit, Area Commands and Divisions, Quick Intervention Squad ( QIS ), Special Female Squad ( SFS ), Agro – Rangers, Crisis and Disaster Management, Counter – Terrorism, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Public Relations, Marine, Airport and Anti – Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration Unit, ( ATHIMU ) et ce tera.

The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro however, also upheld, the intentional and unfailing need for 'interagency and intra - agency collaboration,' in a bid to achieving optimal operational successes and safety, during this season of celebrations. He charged, personnel to work harmoniously, with themselves and all other security agencies, if they must achieve the best results in this season.

Recall that the Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro in his last round of trainings for personnel in the Command for the year 2024, explained, the concept of 'interagency and intra - agency collaboration,' while addressing the Management Team, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Tactical Commanders and Officers in charge of various portfolios respectively, at the inauguration of festive operational deployment training for the Command's personnel, organized by the 'Training and Operations,' Department, yesterday, Monday, 16th December, 2024.

The NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, also seized this opportunity, to felicitate with the followers of Christ also known as Christians as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. He wishes Christians a merry and glorious Christmas celebrations and a Happy New year in advance.

The Lagos State Commandant also seized, this season to charge Christians, all Nigerians and foreigners, who are resident in the state, on the need to imbibe the virtues and principles of peace and compassion during the yuletide and the New Year celebrations as exhibited, by Jesus Christ.

The Lagos State Commandant also appreciated, the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Mr Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo - Olu and his Deputy Governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, for their immense support towards the development of the Corps in Lagos. Also he appreciated, the support from the entire cabinet of the Excellent Lagos State Government as well as our strategic partners, security agencies such as; Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air force, Nigerian Police Force and all the paramilitary agencies and others just to mention a few. He also thanked, members of the press, who have also contributed, immensely, with their pen and wisdom, to make the Command and the entire people of the state, become direct or indirect beneficiaries of timely and appropriate information, sound and balanced reportage, objective reporting, with professional conducts and practices made possible through peaceful and smooth working relationships as well as love for country.

The Lagos State Commandant, however, seized, this season to warn unrepentant and intending unscrupulous criminal elements, to for the last time refrain, from their not only wicked but evil, malicious, debilitating, destructive, harmful, terrifying and corrosive acts of sabotage and criminality or rather face the full wrath of the law.
