In a notable legal development, human rights activist and legal practitioner, Dele Farotimi, has been granted bail by Ekiti state federal high court following his recent arrest.
The decision was made during a hearing that saw his legal team argue in favor of his release pending further proceedings.
The 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, announced the development on his X handle on Friday.
Sowore stated that Farotimi was granted bail.
He wrote “The Magistrate Court has finally granted Dele Farotimi bail, subject to the following conditions: a 30 million bond, two sureties (one of whom must be a property owner), submission of his passport, and a prohibition on granting media interviews. The Struggle Continues!”
