In futherance to enhance better yields in maize and sorghum, At Kaduna state alone, Nestle's also initiated Feed The Future Nestlé Maize Quality Improvement Program (M-QIP)
With USAID and VEGA targeting modern farming trainings for small and medium scale farmers,the drive was specially to reduce to bearest levels the contaminants of crops within targets of 3 years to build capacities for volunteers who would offer trainings to other small scale farmers in yielding better quality farm produce which also would positively enhance profiting to their businesses in the value chains of agricultural sectors in Nigeria.
Along the line, about 150 local youths volunteers were engaged to further impart over 20,000 local farmers for greater quality agricultural knowledge for profiteering, and about 40 percentage of women engagement was targeted to benefit from 20,000 aimed to acquired the modern trainings.
