IGP EGBETOKUN DECORATES AIG ADEGOKE FAYOADE, OTHERS WITH NEW RANKS

 


In a momentous ceremony held on Tuesday, 10th September 2024, at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu, PhD, NPM, decorated several senior officers with their new ranks, including AIG Adegoke Mustapha Fayoade mni. This elevation is part of the recent promotion approved by the Police Service Commission at the request of the IGP.

The promotion ceremony saw the elevation of AIG Adegoke Mustapha Fayoade alongside 7 other Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG). Among the newly promoted AIGs were Benneth Igwe, Suleiman Mohammed Abdul, Augustina Nwuka Ogbodo, Stephen Olanrewaju, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, Adegboyega Funsho Adegboye, and Mohammed Bala Labbo.

In attendance at the ceremony were key dignitaries including the Honorable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, His Excellency Barrister Nyesom Wike, the Former Governors of Akwa Ibom and Imo States, His Excellency Obong Victor Attah, Dr. Achike Odinwa and Dr Ayodele Ogunsan respectively, alongside other distinguished guests, families, and colleagues of the promotes. Notably, the event was covered by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), further highlighting the importance of the occasion.

The Inspector-General of Police, in his congratulatory remarks, charged the newly decorated officers, including AIG Adegoke Mustapha Fayoade, to uphold the rule of law, maintain professionalism, and serve as ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force. He emphasized the importance of discharging their new duties diligently, in alignment with the expectations of the citizens and the laws of the nation.
