Following the federal government intervention on Idiroko ECOWAS road construction, the Management of STRABIC Construction, the construction company responsible for the Overhead bridge portions scheduled for the two points of Oju-Ore and Winners along the ever busy international road, after finding it extremely difficult to evacuate the market and Commuters crowding the Oju Ore and Winners Sites respectively,the Ogun state traffic agency, 'TRACE' under the leadership of Commander 'Seni Ogunyemi,the state boss had immediately swung into action through Commander Adekunle Ajibade Ariyo, the Area 4 Commander by visiting the allocated sites at Winners and Oju-Ore areas immediately after a stakeholders meeting with other market and transporters who plied the routes.
In less than 24 hours,the Ogun State, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) mobilised their operatives to clear encroachers and illegal parks out of the space. The Oju-Ore action packed operations in collaboration with the Traffic section of Nigerian Police,led by SP Simon Sako, the District Traffic Officer, Sango-Ota police station saw the environment been cordoned off of the illegal traders and Commuters for easy access and settlement for the construction company to work.
Mr Shabbir Sharif, in the company of Javed Afzal senior and Junior project managers respectively of STRABIC Construction company came visiting the once crowded spots with surprise seeing Oju-Ore motor park completely empty, 'am so surprised seeing what you achieved at Winners market crowded spot and also witnessed Oju-Ore site emptied of the fearful gatherings of markets and commuters alike' infact I am happy with you my friend' Sharif said to Ajibade' now we can start our job without any disturbances, he enthused.
Recall, hence the road had been awarded for an international standard expansion,it has been an Herculean task for the construction company to Kickstart the job at Oju-Ore axis especially due to its notorious traffic and commercial activities going on there.
The Company's equipment and materials has since been arriving at the sites for onward construction activities,now the end has come to the heavy traffic challenges encountered by drivers and road users along the axis.
Be informed that the fly-overs for Oju-Ore and Winners would attract Six months duration while the entire Idiroko/ Border road would take two years to be completed for commission as stipulated in the project chart, the Senior project manager Sharif said.
