Wickedness! How Lady Sold Sibling To Fund Traditional Wedding

In a shocking incident, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has arrested 24-year-old Blessing Okonkwo for allegedly selling her three-year-old sibling, Friday Okonkwo, for N410,000. Blessing confessed that the sale was motivated by financial hardship and a desire to fund her traditional wedding.

According to Sahara Reporters, Blessing deceived her mother by claiming she was taking Friday to enroll him in a school in Mubi, a city approximately 40 kilometers from their home. Instead, she sold the child to Efunaya Nabufe, a 35-year-old buyer, who then trafficked Friday to Enugu, a city in southeastern Nigeria.

Blessing admitted to using the proceeds from the sale to purchase a grinding machine to start a business. She also gave her boyfriend N200,000 to buy items required for their traditional wedding.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case, and both Blessing and Efunaya Nabufe are currently in custody facing charges related to child trafficking and endangerment. Authorities are working to locate and safely return Friday Okonkwo to his family.

This incident highlights the severe economic challenges many Nigerians face and the desperate measures some may take to overcome them. The NPF urges citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent such tragic occurrences in the future.
