TRACE Corps Commander/CEO Prince 'Seni Ogunyemi, on Thursday ordered 24 hrs traffic patrol by TRACE Operatives at the Oju-Ore Roundabout to ensure free flow of traffic and prevention of transforming spaces created after demolition of illegal structures to another illegal garages and markets.
Responding during an interview with our Correspondent, Prince Ogunyemi said TRACE Operatives have been drafted to Oju-Ore axis to assist in traffic control, prevent turning open spaces to illegal and markets and garages.
While enjoining community leaders in the axis to cooperate with the construction workers and discourage miscreants and street urchins, aka 'Area Boys' from distrusting construction workers, the TRACE Boss believes the intractable traffic bottlenecks at Oju-Ore would be a bygone when the construction is completed.
Thecaveat.com.ng reports that demolition exercise, which started on Sunday, touched buildings, including petrol filling stations as well as trees on either side of Idiroko-Atan-Ota road, leaving traders wailing.
A resident who did not want his name in print, blamed owners of demolished structures for taken government notice to remove their structures for granted, adding that they have been given more than enough notice.
He said the reconstruction of the International road would solve the problem of traffic congestion on the road, in view of concentration of industries in the area.
