School Closure: St. Margaret and LASBCA Reach Amicable Settlement, Praise Gov. Sanwo-Olu and Other Stakeholders Interventions


 

Aftermath of the public outcry and publicity drawn towards the partial demolition and closure of the Ikorodu based groups of school, Saint Margaret on 27th day of March 2024 by the teams of Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA).
The management of the school and the authority of the building agency has finally arrived at an amicable resolutions on the matter. This resolve was at the instances of several links of interventions by the governor,Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as his unique approaches to amicable resolutions of issues in the state had been. Both present, hon. Moshoob Abiodun Aro and former Honorable member of house of Assemblies, hon.Saka Fafunmi, were also at the stake of interventions on the final approach taken for amicable resolve. Lagos Speaker,RT hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Honorables Ogunleye, Aro Abiodun, Saka Fafunmi, Senator Olusegun Abiru and hosts of Ikorodu Obas were also at the thank you offers for the move to resolve and reopen the over four decades old groups of schools under the lock and keys.

Mr Olusegun Alonge,the school proprietor who had been at the centre of the storm for a kind resolutions of the misunderstanding between the building agency and the school management commended the heartfelt hearings the Lagos government and the agency gave to their series of appeals to get the school unsealed.
Mr Salami Oluseye,the school principal’s joy knows no bound as the resolution hedges on reopening the locked center of learning. In his word, he said the issues that led to the imbroglio was a mere misunderstanding between the school security personnel and the LASBCA’s officials that visited the school on said date and has since been admitted as such. Added it’s important the issues be cleared against earlier presumptions alleging thugs invasions of the school, stated the teams of people were actually officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and not Touts as claimed in news narratives.
Recall the news reverberated recently while he made a heartfelt appeal to Governor Sanwo-Olu and any other stakeholders to reconsider the school’s meritorious track records in sheathing their sword but to ensure the school is unsealed in preparations for continuos outstanding learning activities.Also commended the proprietor’s and school coordinator,Mr Dominic Lawani’s efforts to ensure glory of the school rebound, appreciates all Parents, Staff, Community and students approach in the struggles for amicable resolutions achieved hitherto.

The joyful head teacher avowed on behalf of the School would henceforth continue in collaboration and cooperative relationship with the LASBCA and any other Agencies of Lagos state as institution that imbibed progressive collaborative efforts in making Lagos state centre of excellence.
