Omolara Ogunmakinju (Formerly Omotosho Omolara) singlehandedly turned Silver to GOLD for Nigeria🇳🇬 in mixed 4x400m relay, running down her Botswana opponent to get Nigeria over the line. She made up a 15-metre deficit and swung past the Botswana 🇧🇼 anchor with just 30 metres to go!
The Akure-born 400m specialist took a break from Track to start her family, giving birth to two children before returning to Athletics. Got a full funding scholarship to further her Athletic journey and studies in the United States of America🇺🇸 early this year..... Now she is back winning GOLD medals for her country 🇳🇬.
She just did what she knows how to do best right from her undergraduate days from the department of Human Kinetics in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State Nigeria.
