The Ogun state Vehicle inspection Service (VIS) had reveal basic and fundamental reasons their offices scattered all over the state deliberately avoids situations that warrant vehicle apprehended for expired documents staying longer than necessary in their offices. Engineer Ademehin Olugboyega,the state VIS boss administration under the ministry of transportation has it as policy to keep few vehicular retainancy in their premises.
The Ota Zonal Vehicle inspection Service number one officer, Engineer Oluwatoyin Olugbenga stated in line with the directives from the administration devised a unique but fruitful means of achieving such task by being deliberate in training officers and engage erring drivers and vehicle owners modestly in order to avoid matters that could prolong stays of vehicles in their custody.
She added, virtually every offender we impounded their vehicles usually yielded to our kind appeal to see reasons documents needed be renewed,with this steps we rarely had issues for any vehicle to stay longer than necessary but unless we had harassment cases of our operatives,an experience I don't take for granted at all.She said.
"No need to delay any offenders unless on rare cases of harassment to our operatives. We usually engage them to forestall any stupid behaviours from drivers"
An instance when an officer called to complain on a truck with all expired vehicle documents and she counsel on the phone to visit the office to resolve the issues to avoid being tolled especially on weekends which might prolong their retainancy due to weekend holidays.
As the yuletide season draws near, Engineer Olugbenga also urge all drivers and road users alike to obey traffic rules and patiently avoid rush hour driving that usually lead to crashes and loss of lives and properties,added nothing is evil about ember months but people's attitudes that always lead to untold crash experiences on our roads. While everyone obeys traffic regulations, crash statistics are usually brought to bearest minimum levels, She affirmed.
The zonal commander, appeal road users and drivers to always adhere to traffic regulations which indicates every driver and vehicle owners constantly look out for the expiration dates and months of their trucks and vehicles documents including driver's license to avoid been impounded by her men on the road. She Counsels drivers to visit their respective offices anywhere in the state to get their valid and genuine documents and stop patronizing touts and non-professionals that usually offers them fake documents,hence the government frowned at such henceforth.
