Three suspects are cooling their heels at the custody of Ogun state police over alleged conspiracy and stealing of the Royal Crown and Staff of Office of late King  Ogunmakin in the Obafemi/Owode LGA, Ogun State. 
The suspects who allegedly conspired and stole the royal necessities, two months after the demise of the late king are, Amusa Kazeem "m"  Oke Oladipupo and Johnson Oluwole 'm'.
 
They allegedly entered into the Palace at about 2000hrs, took away the properties of the late king where they were kept. They took the key where it was kept in the custody of the person assigned to keep the properties and removed the Royal Crown and the Staff of Office of the late King an act described as an abomination.
 
Confirming the story, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, said she received an intelligence report, on the 12th of October 2023, from the Palace of his Royal Majesty late Ogun Makin about the missing royal crown and staff of office. 
 
"Immediately the information was received the police swung into action and recovered the Royal Crown, from the house of one Kazeem Amusan "m" . The Staff of Office has not been recovered, but intensive action is on-going to recover same". According to the PPRO, the suspects have been arrested and under-going interrogation.
She said the Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, is abreast of the report and has condemned the act, he is beaconing at well spirited persons to volunteer information that will lead to the recovery of the Staff of Office.
