OGUN: AOOLG CONSTITUTES PALLIATIVE DISTRIBUTION WORKING COMMITTEE

 


           

        



  

 

Sequence to federal, state l government moves to cushion negative effects of ithe fuel subsidy removal at the grassroots, a Palliative Distribution Committee has been constituted in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

           The Committee is chaired by the Chairman of the Local Government, Engr. Sheriff Musa, while Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Abiodun Sejoro serves as the Secretary of the Committee.

Others were Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Saidat Animashaun, Leader of the House, Hon. (Mrs.) Omosowon Bukola Balogun, Head of Local Government Administration, Dr. Adebola Bamgbose, Onitetiku of Owode Oba Abdul Wasiu Ogungbayi, Onikotun of Otun Ota, Oba Odunaro Akeem,  a member of Ogun State Central Working Committee on Palliative, Princes Feyikemi Egbeyemi, a former Transition Council Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Wasiu, representatives of League of Imams, Christian Association of Nigeria, Chairman, Ogun State Community Development Council and Youths organisation, among others.

          Speaking during the inauguration of the Committee at the council's conference room, Ota, Engr. Musa said the move was in fulfilment of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s directive to fastrack the palliative distribution at the Local Government level.

           The council Chairman stated that recipients would be drawn from the 655 polling units in each ward of the council, assuring that the palliative would be distributed to the vulnerable in their respective communities.

          Musa urged the Committee members to ensure a smooth and hitch-free distribution exercise, enjoining them to be transparent in the discharge of their obligations.

          He assured that the Local Government would continue to embark on people-oriented projects and programmes in fulfilment of its electioneering promises for the betterment of the people.

          Contributing, the immediate Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government, who is also a member of the Committee, Hon. Wasiu Lawal, said the distribution would be properly done, in order to bring succour to the downtrodden in the society.
