It appears that the dust raised by Local Government Chairmen of Ijebu East, Hon. Wale Adedayo few days ago over diversion of the statutory Federal Allocation due to the state’s Local Governments in the last two years by the Governor Dapo Abiodun has not abated..
In a quick reaction, Abiodun, on Tuesday, denied the allegation that he was diverting the statutory Federal Allocation due to the state’s Local Governments in the last two years.
The governor said his administration had to augment the funds allocated to local governments in the state to enable the council chairmen to meet their obligations.
In the same vein, Local Government Area Chairmen in Ogun State, on Tuesday, denied the allegation that the state government had been diverting their funds, resulting in zero allocation to them, as alleged by the Chairman of Ijebu East council area, Mr Wale Adedayo.
The Chairmen disclosed this, when they visited Governor Dapo Abiodun with Mr Adedayo, who made the allegation, to tender an unreserved apology, noting that they accepted that mistakes had been made.
The meeting, held at the Governor’s office at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta, was attended by 18 out of the 20 Chairmen.
On the Facebook page of Adedayo as cited by photostory.com.ng today, he wrote ” Invading peaceful Ogbere community with mobile policemen in order to impeach Wale Adedayo is desperation. As I told the SSG yesterday, we took an oath with our fathers that that we’ll make this land better than we met it. You can kill the body, but not the spirit of Wale Adedayo” he concluded.
As at the time of filing this report, no reaction from the state government yet..
More details as events unfold.
