Gunmen Kidnap Mother And Her 3 Children In Ogun; Demand N100m Ransom

The abduction of a mother and business woman, Mrs Funmilola Eniola Oyewale and her three children, Ezekiel Okikiola Oyewale, Oyewale Oreoluwa Racheal and Oyewale Ayodeji Samuel has taken place in the Atan community, Ota district, in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State. The husband of the kidnapped woman, Ayokunle Oyewale, confirmed the incident, stating that his wife and his 3 children were taken at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, 13th of August, 2023. According to the husband who narrated how the incident occurred explained that his wife and his 3 children were returning from an outing when the  gunmen accosted them almost about entering their house.

According to Mr Oyewale who said he was away when the incident occurred explained that he was informed through a phone call by a friend who's also a neighbour in his community and that he was told that the gunmen came in a black fully tinted toyota suv with no plate number, began to fire indiscriminately, after which they took his wife and children from the gate of their residence into their vehicle while abandoning the vehicle which his wife and children were in before zooming off to a yet to be known destination.

Mr Oyewale who was physically demoralised while narrating the ordeal said immediately he received the call that his family were in danger, he had to abandon what he was doing at that time and had to quickly rush home and that the kidnappers had already left before getting home. He mentioned that the abductors have contacted him through his wife's phone and demanded a ransom of N100million from him.

He also reported that the kidnappers warned him not to involve the police if he wants to see his family alive and that though he has received calls from the police, he had made it known that he would not want the police to be involved for the fear of the earlier warning and for the safety of his family.

The kidnappers have made contact with me reiterating their demand for the N100 million ransom.
