In a recent interview with Evening Standard UK, Wizkid, the Afrobeats singer, revealed the reason why he avoids engaging in political conversations in Nigeria.
He stated that he rarely discusses politics during interviews because he believes it is “irrelevant to Nigerians.”
According to the singer, the average Nigerian is more concerned about
their basic needs, such as food and survival, and has little interest
in political matters.
He emphasized that people in the streets prioritize their daily lives and what they will eat, showing little concern for other issues. As a result, Wizkid prefers to focus on topics that directly impact the lives of Nigerians and resonate with them on a personal level.
