Adeniyi, on Monday, described officers and men of the Nigeria Customs
Service (NCS), manning various border stations and other entry points as
unsung heroes.
BUSINESSINSIDERNG, reports that Nigeria has a
total land borders of 4,047 km (2,515 mi) and share the longest border
with Cameroon, which runs for a massive 10,050 miles, while the shortest
border is that with Chad, which runs for a much shorter 54 miles.

Nigeria is bordered to the North by Niger, to the east
by Chad and Cameroon, to the south by the Gulf of Guinea of the Atlantic
Ocean, and to the west by Benin Republic.
However, Adeniyi after embarking on a comprehensive tour
of the Service Headquarters, said the border officers go above and
beyond to safeguard the nation’s borders.
He further engaged on a one on one with officers and gained valuable insights into their daily work.

He said, “let us celebrate our unsung heroes who go
above and beyond to safeguard our nation’s borders. Together, we will
foster a culture of teamwork, transparency, and pride in our work.”
However, during the tour, the CGC listened attentively,
appreciating the challenges and contributions of officers and men to
build a Customs Service that supports and empowers human resources.
“We are committed to enhancing your professional
development, welfare, and well-being. Our initiatives to improve
training programs, ensure a conducive working environment, and provide
necessary resources is paramount in our administration,” he emphasised.
The CGC commended outstanding officers for their dedication and exemplary service.
The CGC’s tour is a teaser towards embarking on a
