Some may have thought that Mark Zuckerberg was only taking Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for fun or publicity. However, he proved to be taking the sport seriously by testing his skills in a competition.
Fans were shocked when stories started making the rounds, showing that Meta owner Zuckerberg had started training BJJ.
Some questioned if there were bigger motivations that tied into the deal Meta had recently signed with the UFC.
However, when “Zuck” then seemingly rented out the entire UFC Apex center for a private viewing of an event, it became more evident that he is actually a fan of combat sports.
It is one thing to say you are a big MMA fan, even if you put your money where your mouth is like Mark Zuckerberg, but it is a completely different ballgame to step up and actually train and compete in one of MMA’s composite sports.
Zuckerberg posted to Instagram over the weekend, revealing that he had taken part in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament in the Bay Area. And he apparently did well enough to earn medals, seemingly getting both gold and silver, while showing appreciation to his coaches, Dave Camarillo, Khai Wu, and James Terry.
