NDLEA TAKES WADA GOSPEL TO OGUN TRACE

Following the director generals of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, General Buba Marwa (Rtd) mandate in eradicating drug trafficking and consumption syndrome in Nigeria, the Area commander of Ota zone, Commander Olasumbo Akande recently paid an official visit to the area command of Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE).

Recall that the  Ogun Corp Commander of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Commander Seni Ogunyemi in his administration of TRACE as an agency is always in working synergies and corporation with other sister agencies in the state not only to enjoy free flow of traffic but also to provide a workable corporation for military and paramilitary task forces to make the gateway state a better place for lives and businesses to thrive.

 

 

The meeting which was at the stake of familiarisation visits of the new NDLEA boss to the traffic control agency in the gateway state,calls for consistent synergy between the anti drug abuse agency and the Ogun traffic control and enforcement authorities. Commander Akande stated in his anti-drug abuse message that TRACE agency had been specially recognized as crucial sister agency to partner with in curbing drug trafficking in the country. He reveals NDLEA authority recently institute a project on War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) which prioritize urgent efforts to Stop Drug abuse and it's attendant vices in the nation.

He said the need for TRACE agency to join force with NDLEA is ripe for successful monitoring and systemic apprehensions of the unsuspected drivers who facilitate movements of narcotics from one location and another. He added,many of these drivers ranges from loading of Charcoals ,food stuffs,Farm produce and other unsuspecting items, but however are accosted daily by the traffic agency but unable to identify due to the fact those substances were packaged in hidden places.

 The Ota Area command NDLEA boss attributed success of the Drug agency to intelligence gathered from sources nationwide in combating the peddlers and the consumers alike. Commander Akande further revealed his command would soon organise forum between the two agencies to abreast and aquatints them with different systemic discoveries and technological methods for effective control and eradications of hard drugs which according to him had led our youths into indescriminate use of hard drugs and substances.

The Area Commander in charge of Area 4, of TRACE commands, Commander Adekunle Ariyo Ajibade in his remark commends the agency for due recognition of TRACE agency to partner in eradicating drug and substances abuse,promised corporation to galvanize his command in the synergy to make the society a saner place.

 Citing instances impounded truck drivers were usually drunk or misbehaving on wheels, occasions according to the TRACE boss directly connected to either drug or substances intakes, many lives and properties were always lost due to the disturbing habits of constant intoxication and mind bending substances taken by drivers,he stated.
