WASSCE 2022: Candidates Can Now Access Their Digital Certificates Directly Via www.waec.org, Says WAEC

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has been seen not to rest on its oars just as it announced that participants who sat West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates, 2022 can now access, share and confirm their certificates to any institution directly from the WAEC Digital Certificate platform via www.waec.org.

This information was made available to veracitydesk.com.ng by the exam body on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in a terse message through its image maker, Moyosola Adesina.

She said,

“Candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2022 can now access, share and confirm their  certificate to any institution directly from the WAEC Digital Certificate platform via www.waec.org”

Recall, WAEC had on Thursday October 20, 2022 launched its Digital Certificate platform in Lagos.

The Head, National Office (HNO), Mr Patrick Areghan, at the unveiling of the platform, said the intervention was designed to meet up with the constant demands of a changing world within the digital space.

According to him, with the advent of technology, there is a need to integrate technology with students’ lifestyles.

The HNO noted that the council’s new digital platform was developed in conjunction with one of the world‘s foremost security technology providers.

He said it was being implemented to streamline the issuance and verification of certificates from all over the world.

Areghan further stressed that the platform involved mobile and web-based applications, designed specifically for candidates, individuals, institutions and organisations.

According to him, it holds powerful features that enable users to access, share, request and confirm certificates.

He said it could also be used to recover candidates’ forgotten/lost examination numbers.

The HNO equally added that the platform is hosted on a dedicated credential page with options to share and embed and that it presents same information as paper certificates, but has numerous advantages over paper certificates, with a special focus on the elimination of fraud and easy accessibility.
