Yuletide: 'No Evil In Ember Months It's Blessed' TRACE Ota Divisional Commander Emphasied

While some are intoxicated with notions of evil occurrences during the ember months annually, it should be noted that no month in its own is saturated with any iota of evil but blessings depending on how humans decided to perceive it.

Ota Divisional Commander of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, Commander Olaoke Victoria has enjoined motorists to recognize and embrace the blessings in Ember Months rather than seeing them as intrinsically evil.

She said drivers' failure to abide by traffic rules and regulations, coupled with their carefree-attitude regarding mantainance of their vehicles, usually result in most of the crashes in the Ember Months.

Commander Olaoke dropped the hints at Salient Industries Limited, Ota  during the training of drivers by both TRACE and Vehicles Inspection Services, V. I. O., Ota, on Thursday.

"Ember Months, especially the month of December, are blessed with many goodies. December is the most blessed month. This is the month people shower one another with gifts, hampers, warm houses, wedding, just to mention but a few. Why then do we see it as evil month?
"Even children look for arrival of December for new clothes, chicken and visiting interesting places.

"We need to look inwardly for human causes of crashes in December and avoid it, instead of giving it bad name", Cdr Olaoke advised.

She mentioned such causes of accident as unnecessary rush which leads to wrongful overtaking and causing crashes.
"Some of the accidents may lead to immediate death, or permanent disability. Let's join the caliber of people that make it in Ember Months, not those who believed that are evil months.

"TRACE is your best friend when you obey traffic rules and regulations. Do it right and you will get it well.

When a driver drives against the traffic, TRACE have the right to prosecute such driver",she expanciated  ".She also made the drivers to understand the fact that,he who drives in a direction prohibited by road traffic law is either not mentally balanced or been intoxicated by Alcohol or drugs,or actually wanted to kill other road users intentionally. The need for such driver to be evaluated by professionals she explained.

She also advised that,it is better to be late than been unnecessarily in a hurry. No one is expected to fall foul of traffic rules and regulations after this training", she warned!

Cdr Olaoke further reminded drivers of highway codes, urging them to embrace the use of road signs and symbols.

"Stop unnecessary competition or comparison with other drivers. Do not let  this message go unnoticed. Work and let your children recognize you.

"Consider other road users, don't be selfish on the road, be safety conscious .
Get familiar with the sound of your vehicle, such that, when it gives a strange sound, you can quickly take it to mechanic workshop where adequate repair could be given to the vehicle.lnstead of ignorantly breaking dawn on the road, which can obstruct other road users  leading to crashes.

"Stop playing unnecessary music that prevents drivers giving necessary attention to the strange sound of your vehicle.
Also note that it is the duty of TRACE to clear abandoned or breakdown vehicles from the roads. To avoid crashes.

Speaking in the same vein, the VIO Zonal Commander, Ota, Engr OluGbenga Oluwatoyin had told drivers the effects of driving on the road.
.
She futher said drivers must  be  Safety contious  at all times.

"Driver should apply defensive driving mechanism and avoid an unnecessary competition on motion.

"A driver is a potential threat to others and should be able to recognize hazard and avoid it. He should act in correct manner at accident prone junctions", she advised.
"SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE DRIVING A MUST."  She concluded
