Chief Lawal, who was until his death, the Babaloja of Ota, breathed his last in the wee hours of Sunday, after a brief illness.
The Babaloja of Ota, as gathered, was the oldest in the lineage of Iya Iyangu of Arogunmola clan; which comprised of Chief Wuka Aleloju, Tesi, Iya Ajile, among several others. He was also a big uncle to the current Deputy Governor of Ogun state, Engr. Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele.
‘He was one of the pioneer members and founding fathers of the oldest club in Ota, ‘The Iganmode Club’.
Babaloja, as fondly called, is survived by wives, children, grandchildren and great grand children.
His remains will be committed to mother earth at his country home at 3, Balikis close, adjacent Keystone Bank Plc, Just by Gangan round about, Ota by 2:00pm today. As gathered by VOA News Correspondent.
