Motorists and commuters plying Abeokuta-Ota road in Ogun State will now have a sense of relief, as the deplorable portion of Sango-Ota-Ijoko road in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area is being laid with asphalt.
The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun disclosed this in Ago-Iwoye during the commissioning of the 2km Igan-Ishamuru road in the Ijebu North Local Government Area, saying his government had awarded the project to a contractor, while most of the deplorable section of the road was being attended to.
Governor Abiodun noted that his administration would not allow the people to suffer unnecessary hardship, reiterating that “ the government will continue to construct and rehabilitate any economically viable road in the State, whether it belongs to the Federal Government or not’’.
He said "About two weeks ago, I was in Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government in response to the yearnings of our people in the area. I made a promise that if the Federal Government, particularly, the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing did not come to rehabilitate the road, I will get it done. As I speak today, that section of the road is being asphalted.
Abiodun reiterated that his administration would continue to provide adequate resources towards infrastructural development, charging the people to be patient as the road would soon be motorable.
