Following the looming fear and social media bashing on his second term ambition, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has announced the appointment of 29 Liaison Officers for the 20 local government areas of the state.
According to political observers, the move was panic appointments to pacify some aggrieved party members who may work against his second term re-election.
The governor came under intense attacks from residents of the state especially members of the opposition parties who claimed the PDP victory in Osun state governorship election held on Saturday was a pointer to the fact that, Governor Abiodun will also loose his second term bid like his Osun state counterpart, Governor Oyetola.

But in a statement by the Governor's Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, the Governor has appointed Liaison Officers in each of the 20 local Government Areas of the State.
Somorin said the appointments are made in furtherance of the Administration’s inclusive approach to governance, boosting the Building Our Future Together Agenda and deepening democracy.
He noted that, the appointment wa to improve Local Government Administration and bring governance closer to the grassroots.
Notably among the appointees are past Caretaker Chairmen of the 20 local governments, among whom are; Mr. Ayodeji Shomide (Abeokuta South) Emmanuel Babayemi (Ewekoro) Semiu Bola Lawal (Odeda) and host of other chairmanship aspirants in the last local government election in the state.
