The three All Progressive Congress party serving governors pays a surprise visit to the residence of Governor Nyesom Wike of

Rivers State for a closed door meeting.

Wike received the Governors of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ekiti State who also doubles Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi and his Ondo State counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Also present at the meeting is former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.

JomogNews gathered that they have entered into a close-door private meeting.

The details of the closed-door meeting is not yet known but it may not be unconnected with the 2023 presidential election.

Recall that Wike is aggrieved right from outcome of PDP primary election where he lost to Atiku Abubakar, adding to the fact that, Atiku Abubakar later picked the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate inspite of his contributions and fighting spirit to hold the almost inactive party after the 2015 general election where former president lost to President Muhammad Buhari.

Wike, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is expected to back his party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar but speculations have emerged that the Rivers State Governor is unhappy after being passed over for the vice presidential ticket.

APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was said to have met with Wike in France last week but the Tinubu media office has denied such a meeting ever took place.
