thugs who were suspected to be sponsored by the PDP began to trail Mr

he luckily escaped
After Thursday's attack, our
correspondent was at 14, Aba Alamu Street Apata Ibadan Oyo State where
the incident occurred but were informed that Mr Olageshin Olajide with
his wife Mrs Olageshin Shola and children, Olageshin Adedamola and
Olageshin Olakunle to an unknown destination.
One of the
relatives, Mrs Babatunde Comfort Olayinka, who happens to be an in-law
of Mr. Olageshin Olajide, spoke with our correspondents about the
attack. According to her, she stated that some thugs have been trailing
Mr Olageshin Olajide and his family since May 2022 when he was staying
at his former residence at Ayede Street oke ayo odo ona Ibadan.
Where
they first attacked him, they came around 10 pm on 4th May 2022.
Luckily, they didn't meet anyone at his apartment. They destroyed all
his property and left a warning that they would return if he didn't
return back to PDP.
He was in my house with his wife and
children that night when the attackers struck. I was the one who drove
them back home before we discovered the house had been attacked. They
didn't sleep at home that night. They just picked a few of their
belongings, and we drove back to my house. In fact, they moved to the
new house after taking refugee in my house.
After that
incident passed , he had to relocate to the Aba-Alamu area with his wife
and children for safety before he and his family were attacked again
yesterday, but thank God he still escaped this attack. When I got her
and saw how bullets riddle through the front door of his apartment, I
marvelled, I don't think this is just an attack. It is an assassination
attempt. I was informed by people in the community that the thugs wanted
to burn down the house when they discovered he had escaped and that it
took the Intervention of some youths and local vigilantes in the
community to stopped them from burning the house. The thugs have also
burnt down completely the cements shop of my sister at T. Junction
Asanpaowo, Oluyole extension Ibadan.
Since yesterday, I have not
heard from him, and his wife, I don't know their condition, I don't
know what they are passing through right now, I have tried to call their
phones but switched off. I have made a report at the Iyaganku police
area Headquarters, the police is aware of the situation.
Some of
the residents who spoke with our correspondents at the Aba-Alamu
community said the thugs came with a black golf car that had no plate
registration number and were putting on branded shirts and face caps of
PDP logo.
Our correspondents also visited number 29, Ayede Street
oke ayo odo ona Ibadan where Mr Olageshin Olajide was said to have
resided with his family before, where he was first attacked in May 4th
2022 to investigate from the residents of the area what they know about
the attacks, Prince Adekunle Adejumo who is the current chairman of
Ayede Street confirmed that Mr Olageshin was attacked in May and that
he only escaped death by whisker, and also Mr Aborisade Ibrahim who is
the secretary of Ayede, Akinyemi community said the attack created a lot
of tension amongst residents of Ayede street on that night and that
they had to call on local vigilantes to patrol the area till the next
morning. According to other sources, the hoodlums possessed a black golf
car without a registration number, but wore PDP face caps and were
