K1 De Ultimate who is the current King of Fuji Music genre, today March 3 adds a year and chose to make it a low key celebration with a few friends gathering in his palatial home in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

 

K1 whose real name is Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan Anifowoshe otherwise said he chose to mark his 65th Birthday low key because according to him he was yet to finish an ongoing gigantic project of his for which he would be rolling out the drums.

 

He disclosed he was not ready to do anything at all but his wife, Asake Okin who was marking the his first birthday with him after their wedding. “You know, as much as I have reasons to be grateful to God for His immeasurable blessing upon me, I felt I should keep it low keyed while still working on my special project for which I intend to roll out the drum”, he explained.

K1 De Ultimate was born to Alhaja Sadiatu Boluade and Prince Anifowoshe of the Fidipotemole ruling house in Ijebu -Ode.Ogun State.

 

We gathered he started his journey into the Fuji music arena when he joined late Mr. Fuji himself, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Balogun aka Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.

 

He later formed his own band then known as Fuji Messiah organization. For year under the tutelage of Ayinde Barrister he was relatively unknown. His breakthrough came with with the release of his work titled, “Talazo” in 1984

The album marked a turning point in his career and since then it has been hits upon hits.

 

In the course of his career the man who is also being referred to as Oluaye Fuji has won numerous awards both home and abroad. His image has also continued to soar .


The late Oba of Lagos Adeyinka Oyekan crowned him “Oluomo” of Lagos while Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Adeyemi only recently bestowed on him the reverential title of “Maiyegun” of Yoruba land.
