Reports flying around indicated that the second term ambition of Governor Dapo Abiodun as ogun state governor is not certain as an influential APC Chieftain, Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal has declared his ambition to run for the position in 2023.Though the party is yet to hold a primary election to determine the flagbearer, there are indications that Jimi Lawal may be favoured due to his influence in the All Progressive Congress.Jimi Lawal, based in Ijebu is very well known for the many developments he has brought to his community and Ogun state at large.
He has also identified inclusion of women in governance as one of the reasons behind his ambition to become Ogun next governor.He noted that he will ensure that at least all the Vice-Chairmen of the Local Government Areas in Ogun State
