A political group under the aegis of
Osun State Youth and Student Movement (OSYSM) today, February 15, 2022 protested to debunked the alleged protest against the leadership of former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in the state.
INFORMATION CARRIER gathered that some scrupulous elements purpoted a story that a group under the aegis of National Association of Osun State Students(NAOSS), carried placards with several inscriptions such as: “NSCDC threatens our people in Osun”; “NSCDC are we safe”; “NSCDC, we are having you for peace not to kill our people”, ” Stop brutality against Osun residents” and many more to damage the reputation of Ogbeni Aregbesola by saying he was behind illicit assaults, illegal harassment and sporadical gunshots in the state recently.
OSYSM, alleged that some armed men suspected to be loyalist to the state governor arrived at Oranmiyan House around 6pm and engaged in sporadically shootings to kill whoever on sight.
The group, OSYSM, today, organised a peaceful rally with several placards inscribed with messages such as “stop brutality against residents, Osun State is a peaceful State, we have no thugs in our group,” to enable public understand the hot situation in Osun, precisely Osogbo.
The protester engaged in a peaceful road walk and also visited different Police stations in Osogbo, to lodged complain on illegal assaults against its members and they demanded for immediate transfer of the state Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, accusing him of bias to the current situation.
“Series of attacks on members of the group have been reported to the commissioner of Police, but were not treated as expected. We are pleading for immediate redeployment of the state’s Inspector General of Police, IGP Wale Olokode to quarantee transparency in the forthcoming election.
