The race for who becomes the next president of Nigerian in 2023 has begun in full force with several notable politicians declaring their interest in the race. The most pronounced of all is the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He declared his intention some months ago and has since then been making waves with his consultations, statements, meetings and visits to prominent Nigerians who can make way for him in 2023.

Though several scandals have sprung up from these outings of his but none prove capable of making him lose support than that of yesterday at Alaafin Of Oyo’s palace.

During his speech at the palace, Tinubu noted that he is willing to fight dirty to become the next president of Nigeria, revealing how desperate he is in ruling the country.

The main bone of contention is his comments on the youths. Tinubu was heard saying the youths will become president but it will be after he becomes the president of the country.

This statement didn’t really go down well with Nigerian youths, and of course, has revived the rejection of Tinubu’s presidential bid.

No doubt, the Nigerian youths will have an impact in electing the next president of Nigeria, being the largest percentage of the country’s population. Any aspirant who isn’t willing to work with the youths definitely has everything to lose in the coming election.

With Tinubu’s statement, the support of the youths is not certain which means he has automatically disqualified himself from the race.
