In total appreciation and submission to God's leading and directions in the year past,The Ogun State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) yesterday organised a prayer session to thank God for His protection over the Corps Marshal, his family and other personnel throughout the year 2021 till date.
The event, which held yesterday, February 14, at the Command’s ground was aimed at handling over the Corps’ activities throughout the year 2022 unto God. It featured award presentation to most proactive personnels, prayer, dancing, wining and dining together.
Among the dignatories that attended the colorful event included member Federal Road Safety Commission, Captain Adedimeji (Rtd), Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair (Rtd), Commandant, Nigeria Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta, Corps Commander/CRO Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Cdr Abdulfatai Olaseni Ogunyemi, FRSC Corridor Commander 1, Ganiyu Kehinde Hamzat, Road Safety Officers Wives Association (ROSOWA) and other stakeholders.
Its Sector Commander, CC Ahmed Umar, said FRSC would always committed to embark on every possible strategies that will prevent road crashes in Nigeria.
He urged road users especially the drivers to always adhere to traffic rules while behind the wheel, saying human errors leading the factors of traffic crashes.
CC Umar hinted that the Command would, in accordance with the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi’s directive embark on public enlightenment campaign on traffic laws and enforcement on critical offences such as excessive speed to minimise the rising rate of traffic crashes.
He added that the Command will commence the use of radal guns, alcoholisers and other modern technological instruments on highways to detect erring drivers, saying anyone caught would definitely prosecute in accordance with traffic laws.
The Sector Commander warned the tankers and trucks against indiscriminate parking on Ogere, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, adding that any driver caught violating this order will be arrested and his vehicle impounded.
said both Lagos and Ogun Commands of the Corps would work together to ensure no traffic indiscipline is allowed in all the corridors, especially on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
He appealed to FRSC personnel to always be effective and efficient with maximum transparency while on duty. He added that any personnel caught with attitude likely to tarnish the image of the Corps will be punished in accordance with the Commision’s law. Striving to achieve 2022 FRSC strategic goals should be the watcword of all personnel, CC Umar, added.
