By Oki Samson,

The outgoing Lagos Commissioner of Police, AIG Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu has taken his successor, CP Sylvester Abiodun Alabi on a familiarization visit to the Executive Governor of Lagos state, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Kadri Hamzat. Trek Africa Newspaper can report that this move has taken place less than 24 hours before the official exit of AIG Odumosu from the Nigeria Police due to retirement age of 60. Accompanying them on this visit is the Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan.

The visibly happy outgoing former Lagos Police boss, AIG Hakeem Odumosu noted that he wanted to be remembered for bringing improvement to security in Lagos and urged the new CP to do the same. ‘I want to be remembered that I came, I did my best and I improved on what I inherited from retired AIG Muazu in making Lagos safer. That is the same thing I pray for him too.’

The new CP Alabi who is counting on the unflinching and immeasurable support of Lagos State Government to the Police and anticipatory cooperation of members of the public promised during his maiden media briefing yesterday, ‘We will strive to build confidence and trust in members of the public particularly with state actors and non-state actors through intelligence led community policing.’
