President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, has revealed how the president celebrated his 79th birthday in Istanbul, Turkey.
Mr Buhari is in Turkey for the third Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit, which is being hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey. Mr Shehu said in a statement on Friday that the President began the day by cutting a birthday cake in the national colors of green, white, and green.
In response to the statement, Mr. Buhari went straight to chair a planning meeting with officials in his delegation, after which they drove to the Dolmabahce Palace for a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Tayyip Recep Erdogan, according to the statement.
In response to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama’s tribute on behalf of the ministers and the rest of the delegation, President Buhari said he would do his best for Nigeria until the last day, when he hands over to a successor in 2023 and returns to his farm to tend to tender crops and livestock.

“I’m looking forward to finishing in 2023 and returning home to run my farm.” Between now and then, I will do everything in my power to advance the nation’s and people’s interests, as well as carry out my constitutional responsibilities,” he said.
President Buhari was greeted by a surprise lineup of the Nigerian delegation with a cake decorated in Nigeria’s national colors as he walked out of his suite and into the meeting room.
As they began chanting “Happy Birthday, Mr. President,” the group broke into a chorus.
