OPPOSITION POLITICAL PARTIES PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN GOV. DAPO ABIODUN’S ADMINISTRATION

Parties Leaders At The Table

The opposition political parties in Ogun State on Monday, passed a vote of confidence on the governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun describing his administration’s style of inclusive governance  as excellent.
The opposition political parties, under the aegis of Conference Of Political Parties (COPP), made this commendation at a press conference held at Iwe-Iroyin,Press centre, Abeokuta on Monday.

The COPP Chairman and Convener of the meeting, Otunba Femi Soluade said COPP is not oblivious of its role at keeping government of the day on its toes towards ensuring a periodic appraisal of its performance, as well as rendering reasonable criticisms, yet his association would not unnecessarily embark on any needless “cramp mentality of pull him down” syndrome, hence Abiodun was being commended for good performance.

Soluade, who took a cursory look and sectoral appraisal of the Dapo Abiodun led All Progressive Congress (APC) administration in Ogun, declared that the incumbent governor has performed well in the areas of education, by filling the vacant positions with qualified teachers, in addition to his “Yellow Roof Revolution” project, which he said brought about timely reconstruction of delapidating buildings in all the public primary and secondary schools across the state.

COPP specifically commended the Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun for not abandoning the uncompleted projects left by his predecessor in office to suffer set back.
Other area COPP said it applauded Abiodun’s performance included: the housing sector, transportation, agriculture, road construction, as well as the payment of bursaries to students of Ogun State indigenes, urging that the governor must not relent at improving the Primary Health sector too.

“The opposition political parties in Ogun State wishes to state unequivocally that we are indeed, envious of the political management style of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun for creating an enabling political environment through his all inclusive mantra. It is noteworthy to state that members of the opposition political parties are now holding various positions in his cabinet”.

“Upon the aforementioned major and obvious achievements within the past 33 months, it is very apparent that His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun deserves to be specially commended and appreciated. On this note,we dish to pass a vote of confidence and endorsement of good governance on Prince Dapo Abiodun and his administration”.

COPP however, admonished the governor not to relent in his resolve to further develop the state “without bias”, as well as create the needed awareness for parents on the need to look after their wards, particularly, the secondary schools students towards checkmating the seemingly decaying societal morals.
