NSCDC COMMANDANT GENERAL ARRIVES ANAMBRA AHEAD OF SATURDAY'S GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION •


 




 

 

Warns officers against unprofessional conduct





Ahead of the Anambra State governorship election holding on Saturday 6th November, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi has today arrived Awka to ensure a peaceful, conducive and secured environment for the election excercise.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) by the State Command's Spokesperson, DSC Okadigbo Edwin stated that, "The Commandant- General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Audi PhD. has arrived Awka Anambra State Capital ahead of Saturday's Governorship election in the State."

According to Okadigbo, "The Commandant General was received on arrival by the Ag. DCG Operations, Haruna Lawal Muhammed, the Zonal Commander Zone K Awka, ACG Felix Oke, Anambra State Commandant, Mr. Everestus Chimezie Obiyo JP, Imo State Commandant, Michael Ogar, Ebonyi State Commandant, Lucy Samu among others."

Addressing Officers and Men deployed for the Election, the Commandant General cautioned against indiscipline, incivility and unprofessionalism on the part of officers and men as they discharge their duties diligently.
Furthermore, he called on them to put into practice their expected roles and conduct during the election, bearing in mind strict adherence to the principles and rules of the Code of Conduct for Officers and Men of the Corps.

Dr. Audi reassured Ndi Anambra and residents alike that Civil Defence officers to be deployed to the polling units have been well cautioned to be “apolitical, neutral, and professional in the conduct of their duties.”
He warned “would-be miscreants and other political thugs who might be holding clandestine, nocturnal meetings to foment trouble with the motive to disrupt the Anambra governorship election to desist from it.”

The Commandant General is expected to meet with the relevant stakeholders towards having a peaceful conduct of election in the State. Recall that NSCDC had deployed twenty thousand personnel (20,000) drawn from Special forces, Armed Squad Unit, Female Squad, Counter-Terrorism Unit and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosives Unit ahead of Saturday's Governorship election.
