Indication has emerged that Ayiri Emami, the deposed Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom in Delta State is planning a legal action to remove the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse lll.
The embattled Emami alleged that the Olu of Warri had no power to depose him as the Itsekiri traditional prime minister.
Emami, in a reaction to the Olu’s proclamation, disclosed that he was already consulting his lawyers to file a motion to stop the monarch from parading himself as the Olu of Warri.
Emami said that he seized to recognise Ogiame as the Olu of Warri.
He added that the Ologbotsere family had agreed to meet this Thursday “to review and take a position on the latest development.
“He (Olu of Warri) invited the Ologbotsere family for meeting and my people honoured him where he made the pronouncement. He did not hear from his guests (Ologbotsere family).
“The family has agreed to meet on Thursday to review and take a position on this latest development. The meeting will hold in Warri,” Emami said.
Alex Eyengho, spokesman for the Ologbotsere Descendants Worldwide, was quoted as saying
that “The family will surely meet in Warri on Thursday and the outcome of the meeting will be made public thereafter.”
The Olu of Warri, on Tuesday, officially announced that he de-robed the Ayiri as Ologbotsere at a meeting with leaders and members of Ologbotsere Descendants held at the palace in Warri.
The pronouncement ended Ayiri’s four-year reign as the Warri traditional prime minister.
