Cooking Gas Hike: Nigerian Man Invents ‘Buhari's Pot’

While it's difficult to fathom reasons price of cooking Gas skyrocketed, many languished asking questions no one is ready to answer, another man in his ingenuous mindset has gone searching to invent what can be classified as 'economy solution' to people's hardship.
As the prices of cooking gas and kerosene continue to climb, Nigerians are turning to unconventional kitchen practices.

Also, one litre of kerosene now goes for the retail price of N300. It used to be N200.

To cope with the high prices, and with the soaring cost of food, Nigerian communities are turning to firewood and charcoal as their primary sources of kitchen energy.

One man is reportedly trying something else. He is said to have made a pot that can cook two meals inside one pot, separately and for the same amount of cooking gas or kerosene.

Some Nigerians are reportedly calling the pot, which has two chambers, ‘The Buhari Pot’, an apparent bid to signify that the price hikes are occurring under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari Pot

With ‘The Buhari Pot’, someone can cook rice and beans separately, and at the same time without using two burners.

The development turns what with know as ‘speed cooking’ on its head. It used to be two or more cooking gas burners or stoves with as many pots. Now, it is becoming one burner with a dual chamber pot.
