Chief Ibrahim Fayomi, popularly known as Olumaco, has unveiled Ogun West2West agenda as a way of moblising support for Senator Adeola Olamilekan (aka Yayi) ahead of 2023 general elections.
Olumaco while addressing pressmen at the official unveiling of the movement, stated that the idea was to enable the electorates know the quality and qualifying candidate that can definitely bring the dividends of democracy to their door steps.
He said Ogun West2West agenda is a political movement which is formulated to give a staunch support to Senator Yayi in every of his political aspirations.
He said: "The developmental stride brought to Lagos West Senatorial District by Yayi is supposed to be enjoyed in Ogun West Senatorial District because he 'Yayi' is also a stakeholder and son of the soil.
"We should all support him because I strongly believe no other candidate that can match the achievement of senator Yayi in Ogun West Senatorial District.
Olumaco, while explaining the reason behind the slogan 'West2west', said: "You know our senator is man of the people, we've seen the wave of development he brought to the people in Lagos West, we also want such in Ogun West which is his country home. We really need him to come and transform Ogun West as a replica of Lagos West. That is where the West2West movement is coming from and by the special grace of God, we will achieve it come 2023, He added.
For the sake of doubters who join novies and political blackmailers denying Sen Adeola's genuine roots in Ogun west,it should be known under verifiable probe that he is a real son of the soil from Ogun west.
Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi was born on August 10 1969 To Mr Ayinde Adeola Ogunleye and Madam Abeni Olasunbo (nee Akionla). Senator Yayi was a former member, Lagos State House of Assembly where he represented Alimosho State Constituency II from 2003 to 2007 and again from 2007 to 2011.
Adeola was reputed to have been instrumental to the enactment of the law that strengthened the Lagos state internal revenue service, a legislation that catapulted the revenue of the state from N5 billion Naira monthly to over N20 billion Naira. He was also part of the team that passed the Fiscal Responsibility act and the procurement act of Lagos state.
Adeola was elected to the Federal Legislature to represent Alimosho Federal Constituency at the Nigerian House Of Representatives in 2011.
Adeola moved to the Red Chambers on June 6 2011 as the senator representing Lagos west senatorial district.
He is currently the chairman, senate committee on finance and the Cornerstone of the senate.
