Community Youths Launched Security Watch


A community youth under the guise of Amikanle Community Youth Forum on Thursday 26th August 2021 has Launched a voluntary security forum in the area.

According to the youth leader,Comrade Ambassador  Abdulrazaq Adegoke with the support of the Traditional leader of the town High Chief Akeem Oladejo,the Bale elect of Amikanle town in Alimoso local government of Lagos State, the need to put in a forum like this is based on rising wave of insecurity in the community,also to seek support from residents and landlord in the town. The forum is programmed to adopt community policing strategy to curtail the excesses of criminals and to sustain cohesion and peaceful coexistence that guarantees peace among multi-ethnic nationalities of residents.









The forum,he said is strictly voluntary that would enable all participants undergo what is called community policing. 

This would be made possible through cooperation with both Nigerian police,Police community relations committees (PCRC) and Community development Association (CDAs) Amikanle Youth Forum (AUF).

One of the crucial tasks of the launched forum would be to collate information and datas of all residents in the community as this would enable better accountabilities about who is who in the community,he said.

The Police Divisional Officer Alagbado, Lagos, CSP Frank Abba at the event commends the community youth initiatives,emphasise need to use mediums like this to support police in curbing crimes,added all crime cases be directed to the police for prosecution and avoid jungle justice among Community dwellers.

 

 High Chief Akeem Oladejo,the Bale Of Amikanle town also congratulates the youth and promise adequate support to the security forum, further warns criminal minded people to leave the community because there is no hiding place under his traditional watch henceforth.

Other community Leaders in attendance were Pastor Dada,PCRC Chairman Amikanle, PCRC Chairman Oke-Odo, Chief Olu Ogunsola and other concerned residents.
