Chief Taoreed Dada In response to the recent news on the tussles of Awori ancient town, 'Itele' where some groups parading themselves as kingmakers conniving with others to confuse the public that the town had Appointed an 'Oba-elect' in the name of 'Ademola Eletu Asorota'
The Adogun family of Itele-Ota in Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State has appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun to Intervene in ongoing obaship tussle to forestall any act that could lead to the break down of law and order in the area.
Speaking in a press briefing organised by the family in Ayobo-Ipaja, Lagos, the head of the family, Chief Taoreed Dada, accused Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof) Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege of being behind the obaship crisis in the community, warning Mr Ademola Eletu Asorota to desist from parading himself as the Oba-elect of Itele Ota.
He said the community is yet to elect anyone to fill the vacant stool of Onitele of Itele since the demise of late Oba Musa Taofeek, who died on January 5, 2018.
According to the Patriarch, selection of Kings are the primary responsibilities of the king makers which is customarily the model in Yorubaland, therefore ours would not be different.
The family, claiming to be law abiding citizens pledged to continue promoting peaceful co-existence amongst the residents in the community.
