Mikel Obi to Open a Football Academy In Jos
Former Super Eagles Captain and Playmaker, John Obi Mikel is set to open a football academy in Jos, Plateau state Capital.
Stock City Captain disclosed this today when he visited Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State in the Government House Jos.
As part of giving back to the society and also harnessing of more talents for the country and uplifting the people from Poverty, the Netherlands 2005 WYC, 2nd best player make such a magnanimous decision.
Recall that the former Lyn Oslo of Norway, Chelsea FC of England ,Tianjin Teda, Middleborough of England and Tranzobor of Turkey Midfielder who came into the limelight during WYC championship in Netherlands in 2005 after he representing the country in FIFA U-17 world cup in Finland in 2003 last week visited Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
EWR NOTE- what’s really wrong with our mentality. Mikel has the right to invest wherever he wishes to, and we should respect that. He grew up in Jo’s, Plateau United FC gave him a chance to play, and that contributed a lot to his fame. His family is still in Jos, he has a home at Ray field, Jos, his transport company ‘God’s Time Is The Best’ which his father manages is in Jos. Now he wants to open a football academic in the same Jos that made him what he is today, some people who don’t even know how he started start calling him names. They forgot that Kanu Nwankwo started in Owerri, he lived most of his early life in Owerri, played in Heartland FC, he married and wedded in Owerri, that’s why he left his State and invested in Owerri. His Papilo FC is in Owerri too.
I think it’s high time our youths started thinking beyond tribal lines and respect someone’s decision
Although some people wonder if he Mikel obi doesn’t hear about “Aku ruo Uno” Whether Mikel was made in Jos or was made by Jos, his investment decision in the current condition of the nation is unjustifiable says a concerned Igbo man. PETER
