The regular campaigns of the traffic and security agents in Ogun State principally on need for all road users especially drivers and riders to avoid having wrong traffic direction refers to as one-way driving pays out a death reward to a commercial rider who ran out of luck this morning.
 
 
A commercial motorcyclist, popularly called Okada rider, on Friday, met with his untimely death when a hit and run truck crushed him to death on Idiroko road, Ota, Ogun State. 

An eyewitness account told that the Okada rider drove against the traffic, a. k. a. one-way, when the truck which was on its proper lane ran him over at about 8. 20 a. m. 

Speaking on behalf of the state Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Corps Commander/CEO 'Seni Ogunyemi, Commander Adekunle Ajibade, Area Commander in Ota, confirmed the news to the press

Ajibade said that the Okada rider coming from Oju-Ore area drove a Bajaj Motorcycle marked DGB 164 BQ against the traffic at opposite Zenith Bank, on Idiroko road, when he was crushed to death by the  truck with registration number FKY 236 XA.

He said that the victims who died instantly had been handed over to his family members.

“The TRACE are appealing to commercial motorcyclists plying Idiroko road and its environs to refrain from reckless driving and driving against traffic to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.

“In addition, we urged  truck drivers to desist from excessive speeding and maintain an average speed limit to prevent mishaps on the roads", he said.

Ajibade commiserated with the family members of the victim and pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
