The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari over the suspension of micro-blogging platform, Twitter, CityNews Nigeria reports.
The report made available to press that the Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum described whoever advised President Buhari to suspend the platform as the enemy of the government.
Recall that the minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, while giving the reason for the suspension had cited the “persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.”
Fayemi in a post on his Twitter account before it was finally taken down condemned the federal government on the development and defined the action as an “indefensible move”.
He tweeted, “Suspending @Twitter from Nigeria simply because they removed a dangerous, irresponsible & insensitive tweet by @MBuhari is the most absurd and counterproductive move that the FG could have made.
Whoever advised Mr President to make this indefensible move is his biggest enemy,” he said.
CityNews Nigeria will bring you details later….
