IGP Appoints “Square-peg Right” Johnson Babatunde Kokumo As AIG Zone 2

Kokumo,mni(Right) With A Colleague

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Usman Alkali Baba, yesterday, redeployed one of the few versatile and intelligent police chiefs to zone 2 as the new Assistant Inspector-General, AIG. He is Mr Babatunde Johnson Kokumo , the ex- AIG in charge of operations of the force, is coming to a familiar terrain he sojourned severally in the past as a loyal, intelligent and quintessential officer. A one-time deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations of the Lagos State police command, Kokumo would be remembered by stakeholders in security matters in Ogun state over his exploits while there as Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Anti- riot ( MOPOL) Commander. His wealth of experience has seen him as a one-time top officer of the defunct SARS, Anambra state police command and Edo State ( twice as the state commissioner of police). He takes over from AIG Ahmed Illiyasu, who retired, yesterday, after the statutory 60 years of age.

The "lion" AIG Ahmed Illiyasu is thereby congratulated as he statutorily spent and served his father's land meritoriously and retired in peace from active service.

Globalreport media  wishing him therefore more success in his future endeavours.

Zone 2 with headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, consists of Lagos and Ogun states police commands. The AIG is saddled with the supervisions of the two commissioners of police in the states. Kokumo is happily married with children.
