Over 30 cows reported to have mysteriously died on Monday night mysteriously in Akungba in Ondo State.
The cows, it was suspected might have been poisoned by yet to be identified persons, a source has revealed.
The
mysterious death of the cows was reported in the University town of
Akungba Akoko Southwest Local Government of Ondo State last night.
According
to the cows' owner, Ibrahim Saliu, popularly known as Baba saliu, the
death of the cows made him raise alarm that led to panic in the
community.
A
source told our reporters that the cows were poisoned by group of
unknown persons who are envious of the magnamity of Ibrahim saliu the
owner of the cows.
Reacting,
the monarch of Akungba Akoko Oba Sunday Ajimoh, however, said people of
the town would unravel the mystery behind the death of the cows.
Oba Ajimoh also warned against selling or buying such cows for the purpose of consumption.
Efforts to speak with the Divisional police officer Chief supritendent of police CSP shakiru Ajibola proved abortive.
Similar
incident occurred at Ikare akoko in 2019 when 15 cows died while at
Ijare in Ifedore local government, another 30 cows died of thunder
bolt.
