See a man that prayed until his heart shifted from left to right

John Nelson Hyde was born in November 9th, 1865 in Illinois to a Presbyterian Minister who prayed that God would raise up more missionaries. His elder brother was Edmund who died of fever.  John Hyde passed college and became a member of the faculty. Strangely, he resigned and entered into McCormick's Theological Seminary.

He came to believe that God was calling him to India as a missionary and departed to India in 1892 to preach in the Punjab region. John humbled himself and prayed to God for help.

John Hyde had partial deafness, hence learning the Indian language was a struggle.

He was burdened for souls and was called Praying Hyde for his passionate prayer for the lost souls. One thing he did was prayer, he prayed and fasted for 30days for revival. At one time, during those 30days, he knelt for 36hours begging God for His power. He prayed until his heart shifted from left to right.

When he was diagnosed by a doctor in 1910, The doctor told him, "This is one of the most unusual cases I've ever come across. Your heart has shifted out of its natural position on the left side and is now leaning toward the the right side."

Men of this kind are rare in this generation. John Hyde died on 17th February, 1912 at the age of 46.
