A member of the Labour Party, Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele, otherwise known as IWA has resigned his membership of the party.
IWA who was the flag bearer of the state house of Assembly Abk constituency II in the 2019 general election, revealed this through his media adviser Adeyemi Obadimu, made available to reporters on Tuesday.
His resignation statement partly read, “While Thanking God for the opportunities given within the period of my membership of the Labour party, let me also thank members of the party and my distinguished supporters”.
The renowned politician urged his supporters to remain steadfast and await his direction for the next step of action. Though, IWA is yet to give reasons on why he dumped the party, as he promised to reveal everything in a more convenient time.Also, he debunked the rumour of joining any political party, stressing that he’s consulting and will declare his next move very soon.
IWA lost the constituency election to the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
However, he assured the people of Abeokuta South of his unending contribution to the progress and growth of his constituency and local government at large.
